Introduction:
The “Flocks” screen is the heart of the Shepherd database software. It allows you to create all of your groups here. There groups are defined as “flocks” in that a “shepherd” is assigned to care for selected “sheep”.
The Flocks can be classes, small groups, or any ministry you might envision, but the Shepherd database software is especially designed for tracking progress through a series of discipleship classes.
From the Flocks screen you can create or delete classes, view the current attendance of any class, see a list of all classes, and graduates of every class. You can also find all individuals listed as “Stray Sheep” who are not assigned to any class currently.
There are four "Flock Actions" which you can take for any flock:
- Email Flock - send an email to everyone in the Flock who has an email address listed.
- Flock Report - print up a report for the current Flock.
- Monthly Report - email the monthly report request to the current Flock's Shepherd
- Attendance List - print up an attendance chart for the current flock.
(Note that a Shepherd can also be classified as a Stray Sheep if they are currently not assigned to a class.)
