“Import Sheep” will allow you to import many names at once into the Shepherd database.

In order to use this function, you must have your data in “comma-separated format” (.CSV). Excel and all major spreadsheet programs will export into this format.

You must export it as “Names.csv”, and place the file into the “IMPORTS” folder, which is in the main folder for the Shepherd software. This is where the software will look for the file. If it does not find it, an error will result.

When you choose this option, you will be shown a file selection dialogue. Locate the file you wish to import and select “OK”.

The next screen will show you the Import dialogue. Line up the data with the closest available matching field names in Shepherd.

Choose import, and the data will be entered into the Shepherd database.

If you wish to assign one particular class for all data being inserted, you will be given the option to do so. If not, just leave it empty.

All people will be marked as “Sheep” upon import. You may then go through the list and assign any as Shepherds as well.
