Some Thoughts on Pastors and Technology

Hi All,

It's been a super-busy week, so I don't have a lot of time, but I've been thinking about writing for a while on a topic which I really love and that is technology.  It sometimes seems like pastors shouldn't be into technology as it seems almost contrary to our focus on the spiritual side of life.  But as you well know, technology is a really essential tool to accomplish ministry these days.  And i love many aspects of it, so i think i will occasionally be writing on it just for the fun of it.

Here's my basic premise:  use technology that lets you DO MINISTRY, and DOESN'T GET IN THE WAY OF MINISTRY.  That is where the discernment is required.  I have my own biases about the best way to do that, and I will be sharing them with you.

For now, just make sure your Blackberry (or 'crack-berry') doesn't go off when you are counseling someone OK?  You may find it hard not to sneak a peak at who is sending you an email.  (smiley-smile).
